Connecting to AI

The Parfera MCP lets Claude Desktop drive the Parfera financial modeling engine from chat. The MCP runs locally and requires Parfera on the same computer.

Note: The Parfera MCP requires Parfera version 1.1.0 or later. See Install Parfera if you have not installed Parfera yet.

Get the Parfera MCP package

Download the Parfera MCP package (.mcpb file) for your release. Keep this file somewhere easy to find; you will use it to set up Claude Desktop.

Install in Claude Desktop

1. Open Claude Desktop.
2. Install the Parfera MCP package using any of these methods:
   • Double-click the .mcpb file
   • Drag and drop the .mcpb file into the Claude Desktop window
   • Go to Settings → Extensions → Advanced settings, click Install Extension…, and select the .mcpb file
3. Follow the prompts to review and install the Parfera extension.
4. Confirm Parfera is enabled under Settings → Extensions.

Claude can now use Parfera MCP tools in conversation.

Troubleshooting

• Parfera binary not found or not MCP-capable: Update to Parfera 1.1.0 or later, then open Parfera once so it registers its install location. Older installs without MCP support are skipped by the launcher.
• Tools missing in Claude Desktop: Confirm the Parfera extension is installed and enabled under Settings → Extensions, then start a new chat.
